Kevin Toole has practiced in the area of bankruptcy, corporate restructuring and creditors' rights for over 20 years. Kevin joined the bankruptcy department of Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP in 2009 adding his extensive experience and background to the firm's well established insolvency and trustee practice.

Kevin was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1985. Kevin graduated from New York University in 1980 with a B.S. in Public and Business Administration and received his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1984. His legal practice is concentrated in business and personal bankruptcy, business workouts, commercial litigation in federal and state court, state court appeals and representation of the National Credit Union Administration in credit union liquidations.

He regularly practices before New York State Supreme Court, trial level and appellate divisions, US Court of Appeals-Second Circuit, US District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Kevin was with Macco Hackling & Stern in Huntington, New York in the late 1980's focusing on chapter 7-trustee representation and personal bankruptcies. He joined the corporate reorganization specialty firm Angel & Frankel in New York City in 1989 and worked on numerous New York and national chapter 11 cases including the largest CERCLA superfund site case in the United States located in northern Idaho.

Kevin moved to the international firm Salens Hertzfeld Heilbronn Christy & Viener in 1998 to develop a cross border insolvency practice focusing on Eastern European evolving markets. In 2001 Kevin joined Togut Segal & Segal in New York City working on chapter 11 cases, including as co-counsel for Enron Corp., Loews Cineplex Entertainment Corp. and Daewoo International (America) Corp., and trustee representation in chapter 7 cases.

Kevin has been an adjunct professor at New York Institute of Technology (Old Westbury) teaching business law in the School of Management and is the co-author of Hedge Funds: Law and Regulations - U.S. Insolvency Law, Sweet & Maxwell, London England, 2001. He held a line officer commission in the U.S. Navy (Reserve) serving from 1987 to 1996 in Navel Intelligence. Kevin is married with three children and has been active in youth sports coaching since 1995 and his church as a lector.
