Phillip Pepper is an associate in the Tax Law and Trusts and Estates groups of Meltzer Lippe. Phillip advises partnership, corporate, tax-exempt, and individual clients in the areas of federal and state taxation, wealth and estate planning, and compensation and benefits.

Before joining Meltzer Lippe, Phillip practiced federal and state tax law for many years in the New York City office of Kronish, Lieb, Weiner & Hellman, LLP, which became Cooley Godward Kronish LLP in 2006. Before that, he practiced federal and state tax law and estate planning in the Hackensack office of Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard, P.A.

Phillip received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the George Washington University Law School and his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law. Phillip graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A., with honors, in East Asian Studies. He is admitted to the State Bars of New York, New Jersey, and California.

Phillip lives in New York City. Phillip has an interest in world history and culture and has traveled widely in East Asia, West and East Europe, and North America. He has lived in Kyoto, Japan and Seoul, South Korea each for one year. Phillip is an avid fan of opera. He has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has also practiced Judo and Kickboxing. He enjoys running, hiking, and yoga and is a spectator of team sports and martial arts.
