Laura is Of Counsel to Meltzer Lippe's Tax Group where she is involved in all aspects of tax law, including structuring real estate transactions, business tax planning, estate planning, state and local taxation, and tax controversy matters. Laura has worked with a wide variety of industries, including telecommunications, utilities and financial institutions, and has provided tax counsel to charitable organizations. She has obtained private letter rulings for clients from the Internal Revenue Service and advisory opinions from the New York State Department of Taxation. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the United States Tax Court.

Laura has delivered numerous lectures in the tax field and was the chairperson of the ABA Tax Section Subcommittee on the Taxation of Public Utilities. She also co-authored an article published in the November 2002 issue of the Journal of Taxation entitled "Long-Awaited 469 Final Regs. on Self-Charged Items - IRS Holds the Line on Interest Only."

Laura graduated from the Catholic University of America in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Management and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law in 1996, where she was an Article Editor for the Duke Journal of Gender Law & Policy. After law school, like so many other Meltzer Lippe tax lawyers, she went on to receive her Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1997.

More recently, Laura worked in the New York office of a major international law firm, where she gained substantial expertise in all aspects of tax law. While there she also provided estate planning assistance to their nationally preeminent private client department.

Laura enjoys spending time with her two sons as well as playing golf, tennis and traveling.
